A small village built atop a rocky spur over the Berre river, surrounded by lavender fields. Originally set at the meeting point of the only two routes joining the Mediterranean basin and the Iberian peninsula to the rest of Europe through the Alpine range. There are still a number of ancient remains of those days, such as the ancient priory of Saint-Martin (fourteenth and fifteenth century) which is now the parish church.
