| A village perched on a small rocky hill, La Garde Adhémar was used as a medieval stronghold to protect the Rhône Valley. Its name derives from that of the Adhémar family, whose garrison was stationed in the village, while the family themselves lived in Montélimar. The town’s castle was destroyed during the French Revolution. | |||
