An ancient and picturesque village surrounded by lavender fields and vineyards. A former parish of  the diocese of Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux, and of the ancient administrative area supervised by the Intendant and the Parliament of Aix. Chantemerle-lès-Grignan is set on the northern part of the limestone plateau of Le Rouvergue.

What to see, what to visit : the remains of the ramparts which surrounded the mediaeval village and the ruins of the castle, which were renovated in the last century. The nineteenth century church. The ancient Romanesque chapel Saint-Maurice (twelfth century), and the old parochial church dating back to the fifteenth century.
Recommended activities : walking, riding and cycling circuits.
