Le Barroux

Le Barroux is a hilltop village dominated by its castle – a military fortress dating from the twelfth century, it was transformed into a superb Renaissance residence in the sixteenth century. The village boasts superb views over the vast Comtat plain, the Dentelles de Montmirail, Mont Ventoux and the Vaucluse Mountains.

What to see and visit: the sixteenth-century castle and its listed gardens; the Sainte-Madeleine monastery; the Église Saint-Jean Baptiste.
