| 14 km from Manosque, 6 from Saint Martin de Bromes Altitude: 400 m Population: 1645 A Roman spa town, Gréoux-les-Bains is surrounded by fields of thyme, lavender and rosemary and located at the centre of the Valensole plateaux, a region famed for its lavender fields. The water here was highly valued in the nineteenth century, and many historical figures, including Pauline de Bonaparte, were regular visitors to Gréoux. What to see and visit: the Templar castle; the rock-carved spa; the town’s narrow streets and beautiful squares; the Centre for Arts and Traditions; the ancient fortified castle.
