A charming seaside resort known as 'the Pearl of the Côte Bleue', it is at the foot of a pine-tree covered hill. Famed for its clear blue water, its stone and its sandy beaches, its picturesque fishing harbour, where old boats and traditional embarkations moor side by side with sailing boats and speed boats. Every year, on the first three Sundays in September, Carry organises its famous Oursinade on the harbour front, where you can enjoy sampling sea urchins and different types of shellfish. The legend of French cinema that is Fernandel (1903-1971), born in nearby Marseille, and made famous through his starring rôles in Marcel Pagnol's films, built a big house in the 30s - l'Oustaou de la Mar – which overlooks the harbour to this day.
