Lauris

A hilltop village in Provence, Lauris sits among the vineyards and olive trees that lie between the Luberon and the Durance.

What to see and visit: the old village; the seventeenth and eighteenth-century fountains; the church, which was rebuilt in 1702 on the foundations of a fifteenth-century chapel; the wrought-iron campanile built in 1857, the castle, which was rebuilt in the eighteenth century on the ruins of a medieval fortress.
